Thursday, 26th November 2009 - One goes missing in Singapore
So after an uneventful and very comfortable flight. Especially considering it was only £40 with AirAsia. We arrived in Singapore airport. The girls had booked into a hostel but I was splashingout on a hotel. My hotel wass a little away from their hostel. So they grabed a cab and I went on the MRT (subway). We agreed to check-in, settle ad then ring each other.
Well thats where it all went wrong. Once I was on the Sky train to terminal 2 I realised my phone did not work in Singapore! No big deal really, I thought. I will just Facebook them and arrange to meet. Problem two, because I was in a new country Facebook locked my account until they sent me a code via email. Well I never received any code.
So I was in my hotel room, had no idea where the girls hostel was or what it was called, could not get in touch with them. So after a couple of hours I decided to go out and see some of Singapore. As I left the girls must have walked a different way from the MRT station than I did towards it and we missed each other.
I had a nice mooch around Singapore. Then logged into internet at a cafe, still could not access Facebook. Steve was online and managed to relay a message for me to the girls. Then I just missed them being online. Tried ringing the hotel as last message was that girls was there, but, denied. Only to be told that the girls had just left. Can you believe it. Only to hear, once found the girls that they had not gone, they just nipped outside for a smoke. Talk about the worst timing.
Anyway, when I got back to the hotel I got the girls note and managed to ring their hostel. So once again we were all reunited. So thats the story of one lost in Singapore. More a story of AWOL in Singapore.
